American Walnut is a premium hardwood known for its rich, dark color and distinctive grain patterns. It is highly prized for high-end furniture and cabinetry and is unique to North America.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

The sapwood is creamy white, contrasting sharply with the heartwood, which ranges from light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with dark purple streaks. The grain is generally straight but can be wavy or curly, adding to its visual appeal.

WORKABILITY

Walnut is easy to work with both hand and machine tools. It excels in planing, turning, and moulding. It nails and glues well and can be stained and polished to a superior finish. The wood dries slowly but maintains good dimensional stability when dry.
